David SCOTT bpt. 6 September 1784 Scone, Pertshire, Scotland sp. Ann HOY/HOWIE There is a marriage contract
for David and Ann, dated 22 March 1807, in the Scone OPR. There is an entry in the IGI, dated 20 March 1807, Tibbermore,
which corresponds with the date in some family records. David and Ann lived at Ruthvenfield in the Tibbermore
Parish. At the 1851 Census, David was head of a household at Moyns Hamlet Errol. He was 65 years old, and his
occupation was Wright. Ann’s age was given as 62, and her place of birth as Tibbermore. Ann Scott, widow
of David Scott, Millwright, died at Mains of Errol, Errol, at 7pm on 23 June 1865. Her age was given as 80 years.
Cause of death was bronchitis of one month’s duration, as certified by James Wylie, physician and Surgeon, Errol.
Son Joseph, informant, stated that Ann’s parents were James Hoy, a farmer, deceased, and Cathrine Hoy m.s. Walker,
deceased.
James Hoy and Catharine Walker were married at Tibbermore, Perthshire, 15 February 1785. Children
baptised to James and Catherine were :- Margaret bpt. 13 November 1785 Tibbermore Catherine bpt. 1 September
1790 Tibbermore Christian Seton bpt. May 1795 Scone (female) Jean McIntyre bpt. 29 October
1798 Scone No entry has been found for Ann’s baptism.
